When You’re Hungry

Alice sits in church awaiting food at Life Changers.

Hunger can affect people differently, but a common sentiment expressed is “when you’re hungry enough, you’ll eat anything.”

Alice echoed those words at a recent mobile food pantry at Life Changers Restoration Ministries in Lilbourn, MO.

Having limited to no food isn’t a feeling that she is fond of.

“It makes a person feel horrible,” Alice said while shaking her head in disgust.

When she shops for groceries, she doesn’t buy much because of her limited income. That’s one of the reasons she visits the mobile food pantry when the church hosts one.

“This is a good help for people here,” she said.

Receiving the food from the church helps her and others in a variety of ways, she said and added that she helps her neighbors with food when she has extra.

Alice is thankful for the food she receives and the people who make it happen.

“People don’t have to do it, but God should bless them,” she said.
